Getting more bass is not hard. Leave just enough baffle so a cop baton won't easily slip into the pipe.
If it is already a straight pipe, slash cut the end at a 75 degree angle, with the opening parallel to the swing arm, not pointing to the road.
If the sound is still not satisfactory, go buy a piece of 1 and 15/16ths inch, 1/4 or 3/8 wall exhaust pipe (motorhome shop). Make a psuedo-muffler with washers and copper scrubbing pads to place in te pipe during inspections. When you are out to have fun, run it with the pipe open.
As for the carb, just go back through our previous posts about carb mods. If that doesn't do the trick, go buy a Mikuni HSR42 from the HD shop, bolt it on, and rejet it 25% smaller than for HDs.
